Was shot and injured near the mayor’s home in Huhudi, Vryburg, Cape, on 2 July 1985, when police opened fire on protesters. After two weeks in hospital she was taken to the police station where she was severely beaten, tortured with electric shocks and tear-gassed by a named policeman. She was later charged with public violence but was acquitted.
