Was shot dead in Tokoza, Transvaal, on 19 November 1993 by members of the ‘Joshua Squad’, a police unit deployed in the area because of conflict between ANC and IFP supporters. The ‘Joshua Squad’ operated on a shoot-to-kill policy because it could not secure convictions against self-defence units. Three people died and one person was wounded in the incident.
