Was in a unit of five MK operatives active in the Eastern Cape when he was caught in a police roadblock near Elliot, in August 1981, and shot dead. Three others were killed in the ambush and a survivor was arrested. The bodies were secretly buried on a farm near Aliwal North, Cape, and exhumed by the Commission in 1997.
