Was assaulted by members of the Bophuthatswana Police following his detention in July 1989 in Zeerust, Tvl. Mr Rantao was accused of killing a Bophuthatswana policeman during community resistance to the forced incorporation of Braklaagte and Leeuwfontein into Bophuthatswana.
