She had her home burnt down by members of the ‘Gadaffi’ faction of the ANC-aligned Khutsong Youth Congress (KYC) in Khutsong, Carletonville, Transvaal, on 4 March 1990. The ANC-aligned KYC split into two rival factions, the ‘Zim-zims’ and the ‘Gaddaffis’. Her family was targeted by the ‘Gadaffis’ because her husband was a policeman and the SAP were seen to be taking sides in the conflict.
