She lost her home when it was destroyed in 1983 in Crossroads, Cape Town, by supporters of Mr Ngxobongwana’s committee who were opposed to Mr Memani’s committee, to which her husband belonged. Conflict developed within Cro s s roads as a result of the struggle for housing.
