She had her house burnt down by ANC supporters in Hosiyana, Ndwedwe, KwaZulu, near Durban, on 12 February 1994, during political conflict following the funeral of a prominent IFP official in the area. The perpetrators attacked mourners returning from the funeral, and several homes were set alight.
