Description
An ANC supporter who was detained for five days without food and severely beaten daily during July 1989 at the Mmabatho police station, Leeuwfontein, Tvl, allegedly by members of the Bophuthatswana Police. There was fierce resistance at the time to the forceful incorporation of Leeuwfontein and Braklaagte into Bophuthatswana and a meeting held by the two communities was violently dispersed. Two policeman and two civilians died in the resulting conflict.
