A Uitenhage Youth Congress member who was beaten, suffocated and suffered electric shock torture by members of the SAP during intense political conflict in Uitenhage, Cape, in January 1985. He was interrogated about the location of political activists and charged with arson and public violence. He was found guilty on all charges and was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment.
