Her house was lost in an arson attack in Winterveld, Bophuthatswana, in the wake of the City Rocks shooting. Eleven people were killed and two hundred people were injured when police opened fire on a crowd gathered to protest against police brutality at City Rocks Stadium, Winterveld, Bophuthatswana, on 26 March 1986.
