Description
Was severely beaten in Sebokeng, Vereeniging, Transvaal, on 21 April 1993 when three men wearing balaclavas burst into her home. Ms Kheswa believes her home was attacked because she was suspected of being an ANC supporter and had a portrait of Nelson Mandela on her wall. Ms Kheswa’s two sons and three visitors were killed in the attack. The attack took place during a period of intense political conflict between ANC and IFP supporters in the area.
