Was stabbed to death when IFP supporters attacked the informal settlement of Swanieville, Krugersdorp, Transvaal, on 12 May 1991 in retaliation for the earlier abduction of two hostel residents. Twenty-seven people were killed, one hundred and fifteen shacks were burnt and twenty five vehicles were set alight. Twelve people were charged with crimes ranging from murder to arson but were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
